Back with the 2nd post on the TSS Beauty Faves series! In case you missed it, you can check out the first post here. In the second of this series, I’ll be focusing on cleansing milk and cleansing oil.

Let’s face it, removing make-up can be such a pain sometimes, especially after a long, tiring day. There are days when I would just get home and flop down onto my bed before eventually dragging myself up to cleanse my face. However, my make-up removal routine has been made easier, thanks to these two life-changing products: Guinot Refreshing Cleansing Milk and Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi+ Pollutant & Dullness Clarifying Cleansing Oil. Read on to find out more.

Guinot Refreshing Cleansing Milk

The Guinot Refreshing Cleansing Milk is meant to remove make-up, including waterproof. The key ingredients consist of aloe vera which moisturises and soothes the skin, and cucumber extract which refreshes, moisturises and softens the skin. It has a gel-like texture which felt smooth upon application. The soothing sensation coupled with a mild fragrance is a treat to my skin. It definitely refreshes and softens my skin, leaving my skin deliciously supple, sans the feeling of tightness.

It works effectively in breaking down even a full-face make-up. Though, I would not recommend it as the first step in removing make-up, as it would take a generous amount of the cleanser and a few washes to remove heavy make-up, unless you are willing. What I prefer to do instead, is to use my regular cleansing towelettes first and then, as an extra step, use this cleansing milk to remove excess impurities and make-up. Personally, i think it’s a great product in that it literally dissolves waterproof mascara (something I’m always struggling with) no matter how many coats I put on. Also, I really like that it’s gentle on my eyes since I have sensitive eyes.

Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi+ Pollutant & Dullness Clarifying Cleansing Oil

Equipped with the power of  the new green trio (more details here), the Shu Uemura Anti/Oxi+ Pullutant & Dullness Clarifying Cleansing Oil is designed to eliminate pollutants. Living in the city and being exposed to pollution constantly, it takes a toll on my skin condition. This is an amazing product to combat dull skin as it restores the radiance in my skin after each use. It’s invigorating scent really awakens your senses upon application.

Honestly speaking, this is my first experience using a cleansing oil and I’m surprised to find myself liking this product more than I expected. I’m impressed by how effortless it works in removing even the most stubborn make-up, leaving a veil of moisture instead of a greasy aftereffect. It deeply cleanses my face with just one or two pumps ( although the recommended amount is 3-4 pumps) and without having to take a long time.

One teeny tiny downside is that I’m still not comfortable about applying it on my eyes areas yet, but hopefully I’ll get used to it. Although this cleansing oil is on the pricier side, it’s definitely worth splurging on, since it’s possible to get multiple uses out of it.

I’ve been noticing a sort of glow or radiance on my skin lately and the texture of it is much smoother and softer, only to realise that it has been more than four weeks since I’ve started using this Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil. This product claims to reduce dull looking skin within 4 weeks, and it really does! I’m very much satisfied with the result and will definitely continue using it. Although it has been more than four weeks, I’ve only used a tiny amount out of this whole bottle, which means that the whole bottle could last me for a long time.

With love,
