I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. Pastel style is truly seasonless. Even now, the fashion field still can’t enough of this style as if it’s fresh off the runways. Last year, I talked about monochromatic pastel, which is a great start to embracing pastel fashion. This time around, we’re going to take it up a notch and experiment with pastel colour-blocking.
Colour-blocking is a bold and evidently tricky style to master. However, clashing colours in pastel hues is a much more subtle take and not to mention, effortless to pull off (thanks to the subdued tones that seamlessly compliments one another).
A few noteworthy colour combinations are mint green + lavender, blush pink + powder blue, with lilac + buttercup being the freshest of all. I mean, lilac is definitely having its moment right now. Feel free to have a look at my Pinterest board | pastel szn | for more style inspiration.
Pastel style is truly seasonless.
Contrary to popular belief, the pastel trend is not confined to a feminine feel. Depending on your fashion picks, you can work this look into your personal style. Think, a baby blue blazer over a buttery yellow midi skirt as workwear, a peachy-hued crop top couple with dusty mint pants for relaxed vibe or shop your essential athleisure selections in these cotton candy colours. Alternatively, trick your way into this dreamy aesthetic with a light wash jeans which doubles as pastel blue and pair it with a baby pink sweater.
In my case, opting for a double denim ensemble in pastel colours retains the chic factor that speaks to my sense of style. The combination of an oversized denim jacket and frayed edge denim skirt stays true to my go-to style. The graphic tee with splashes of lilac and pale yellow ties the ensemble together perfectly.
