As summer comes to an end, the season’s favourite print a.k.a. floral print is given a gothic twist in the form of muted blooms against subdued backdrop. Dark florals are set to be huge as fall approaches. Think wine red, deep purple, and similar toned-down colours. They are the perfect transitional piece in case you’re reluctant to let go of your summer staple. Dark floral frocks can be styled just as it is if you live in warmer countries. P.S. Oversized blazers and dresses are a match made in heaven.
For a more autumn-approved ensemble, an oversized blazer would be an ideal layering piece. There’s no denying that oversized blazers and dresses are a match made in heaven. Oversized blazer is yet another trend that’s taking the street style scene by storm. Inspired by menswear, these outerwears come in all sorts of fit, be it structured or slouchy.
Here, I paired a brown-purplish floral print dress with a dark grey blazer. The padded shoulder and tailored structure of the blazer along with the light and flowy dress silhouette makes for a perfect juxtaposition. The ditsy floral print slightly peeking out underneath the blazer injects a dose of femininity to the masculine outerwear.
Style Tip : Cinch your waist with a belt for a more put together and chic look. Alternatively, you can wear the blazer just as it is for a relaxed and effortless look. I can’t decide which style I like the best. What do you think? Belted or no? (tho the trend is more towards belted blazer these days)
